Starting the Cycle - Severn Peanut Company sells peanut seed to the best American farmers.  These farmers are contracted to grow peanuts and provide the raw farmer stock back to Severn Peanut Company after the harvest (September/October).

Grower Support – While the peanuts are growing, (May to September) our parent company, Meherrin Agriculture, works closely with the farmers to ensure plant nutrition and the proper crop protection is applied.  Meherrin’s expertise in all kinds of growing conditions helps farmers to maximize yields.  This is true for many crops, with peanuts a primary expertise.  Meherrin has more than 25 locations, from Maryland to Florida to provide this vital service to the farming community throughout the southeast.

Shelling – Severn Peanut Company then receives delivery of millions of pounds of raw peanut farmer stock.  This stage is known in the peanut industry as “shelling”.  It means cleaning all the raw farm materials to provide a clean raw product for manufacturers of all kinds.

Roasting – Severn Peanut then sends the finest quality raw products across the street to Hampton Farms to produce delicious snack products for consumers.

Roasting at four strategically located productions facilities ensures delivery of only FRESH roasted products.  Two of the roasting facilities are located in the heart of what is known as the “V/C (Virginia-Carolina) Peanut Belt.”  One is in Severn NC and the other is in Edenton NC.  These locations also produce peanut butter, which we sell in all sizes, including industrial grades for manufacturers.

The third facility is located in Springfield, Massachusetts where we service the northeast United States and Eastern Canada.  A facility in Portales, New Mexico, the primary growing region for Valencia peanuts services the western half of the United States.
