Turn Up the Heat on Boiled Peanuts

Turn Up the Heat on Boiled Peanuts

Autumn is settling in, which means shorter days fueled by pumpkin spice beverages and treats. Although fall is the favorite season of many folks, the drop in temperature is always an adjustment. So what better way to get cozy than with a delicious boiled peanut dish?

Boiled peanuts are the perfect southern snack to enjoy this fall. With so many antioxidants and vitamins, boiled peanuts are a healthy snack that will fulfill your peanut cravings and help you beat the cold. Hampton Farms peanuts provide endless possibilities for boiled peanut recipes, which can make it tricky to choose just one, but luckily, we’ve done the hard work for you.

Push your tastebuds to the limit by trying this spicy boiled peanut recipe that will warm you up this fall. This easy recipe is ideal for a cold fall day and for sharing with loved ones (or not, we can’t blame you).

For this recipe, you will need a few simple ingredients you may already have in your pantry. With Raw peanuts, jalapenos, spices of your choice and water, you have everything you need to make delicious spicy boiled peanuts.

Ingredients:

2 pounds of Hampton Raw Peanuts

3 jalapeños, sliced

½ cup kosher salt

2 tbsp red pepper flakes

2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning

1 tablespoon garlic powder

10 cups water

Making Spicy Boiled Peanuts:

  1. Grab a 6-quart crockpot and fill it with two pounds of Hampton Farms Raw peanuts.

  2. Season your peanuts to your liking, but we recommend two tablespoons of red pepper flakes, Cajun seasoning, a half cup of kosher salt, and one tablespoon of garlic powder for that extra spice. Adjust the spiciness to taste.

  3. Once your seasonings are in, slice up three jalapeños (or more for a bigger kick) and stir them into the crockpot.

  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low heat for 22 to 24 hours. Cooking times may vary, so be sure to keep an eye on those peanuts. You will know if your peanuts are properly boiled if the peanuts are tender. To check for the right consistency, you can attempt to squish a peanut with a spoon or a fork.

  5. Once the peanuts are properly cooked, drain them. You can serve them hot or cold. Regardless of how you serve them, you’ll still feel the heat!

  6. Enjoy!
